Integrative health and wellness is a client-centred approach to working with individuals collaboratively to address the health and wellbeing of the whole person. It acknowledges the interdependent roles of mind, body and spirit, and the innate healing capacity within each person, with an emphasis on self-care.

Integrative medine encompases conventional and functional medicine principles to provide a holistic and patient centric outcome.

Vanita has pioneered in compounding pharmacy in Australia owning and operating Dartnell’s pharmacy, Melbourne since 1990 for 20 years. Compounding is the creation of a pharmaceutical preparation or a drug by a licensed pharmacist to meet the unique needs of an individual patient (either human or animal) when a commercially available drug does not meet those needs. Compounding pharmacists tailor prescription needs in various strengths, dosage forms or nutritional medicine custom tailored for the patient.

Pharmacists are healthcare professionals who specialize in the quality of medicines supplied to patients. Their responsibilities include ensuring the supply of medicines are within the law, ensuring medicines prescribed to patients are suitable, and advising patients on medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur, and answering patients’ questions.

Today, Vanita used her compunding skills in tailoring science-based natural and pharmaceutical medication to suit a patient’s needs based on validated functional pathology lab results.

No need for guessing – target and tailor health solutions!

Vanita employs a whole medical system combining theory (philosophy and principles) and practice that uses an array of natural therapies to support healing and maintain health. A Naturopath aims to identify underlying causes of ill health and uncover metabolic blocks in biochemistry with functional pathology and use various modalities to manage health. Understanding the by-products of digestion, gastrointestinal health, neurotransmitter response, immune function, metabolic shifts and balance, allergic or sensitivity reactions, and systems and pathways of detoxification are the many avenues of study and implementation into a naturopathic practice.

The scope of practice of natural medicine consists of the assessment of body systems and biochemical imbalances through traditional natural medicine techniques, and the use of traditional natural medicine therapies and techniques to promote, maintain, or restore health. Therapies may include nutrition and diet, herbal preparations, homeopathic preparations, manual techniques, health coaching, and emergency medicine.

Vanita uses naturopathic principles to manage chronic complex health conditions

Herbal and botanical herbal medicine is the older traditional form of medicine using plant extracts from traditional and indigenous cultures for their medicinal qualities. Herbal medicine can be compounded using a synergistic blend of herbs for an induvidual’s health needs.

Rather than strictly advocating a pyramid or food-group-style diet, the nutritionist will determine the healthiest and most effective program for the individual according to the latest nutrition research and the unique biochemical make-up of the individual.
